CDS3000 Series Pictures

The CDS3000 was a Sun 3 deskside chassis clone. While not made by Sun, it used VME cards and ran SunOS.

Sun 4/75 VME System

This is a VME based Graphics Processor (framebuffer system), also called a GT framebuffer. A separate tower that held 2 VME boards and connected to a S-Bus host card, used in S-Bus based Sparc systems. It provides a significant offloading of the processor during rendering, and gives 24 bit color with 16 megs of framebuffer memory, and high-quality video output. No longer supported after SunOs 4.1.4 )

More SPARC VME Systems

Many Sparc VME systems were Sun3 VME systems with upgraded CPU and memory boards. However, Sun continued to build and support a Sparc VME series, the last being the 690MP -- a machine that had every Sun Bus -- VME, SBUS and MBUS.

S-Bus Framebuffers! (and other Odd Periperhals)

As there are a plethora of different sbus cards, I've added a section to try and deal with it. I also suggest you read the framebuffer FAQ for more info (and more pictures!).
